HARLEM IN HAVANA®

Dramatic Series | In Development

Some histories were never meant to sit still.

Harlem in Havana® is a scripted series inspired by the traveling revue created by Leon Claxton where Black and Cuban performers built a world of glamour, risk, and possibility across the American South during the era of Jim Crow.

By day, they move through the constraints of segregation.
By night, under canvas and light, they create something else entirely.

A company of performers—musicians, dancers, comics, dreamers—travel from town to town, chasing freedom, survival, and recognition in a system designed to deny them all three. Inside the show, identities expand. Outside of it, consequences close in.

This is not nostalgia. It’s a story about what it takes to build a life in motion—when the stage is the only place you’re allowed to be fully seen.
